{chocolate+cheesecake}

So I saw this recipe on Pinterest the other day and pinned it immediately as it sounded beyond scrumptious. While I have never made a cheesecake in any form before (mostly because I prefer my desserts to come with mounds of frosting) it is a friend’s birthday this week and she requested cheesecake. I decided no better time than the present to try out this recipe. I like that it is a spin on traditional cheesecake, which isn’t my favorite dessert. By adding a layer of rich chocolate cake, well that is more my style. Part of why I’ve never made cheesecake before is due to the horror stories I’ve heard about the labor-intensive process of making cheesecake. While I’m not one to shy away from the heavy duty labor in the kitchen, I don’t want to have to worry I’m going to ruin a perfectly good dessert by opening the oven too early. I’m pleased to announce that this recipe requires minimal ingredients, minimal labor, and minimal skills. And it turned out amazing. I’m not exaggerating when I say this may be one of my new favorite desserts (of course I had to sneak a bite… I had to test it before I serve it to the public. Or that is my excuse anyways). It is a decadent mix of rich chocolate cake and cheesecake topping with little white and milk chocolate morsels in between. *Sigh*.

{I don’t know who invented this recipe but they deserve nothing but good things coming to them. I’m going to go sleep off my cheesecake hangover. }
