{Sugar Withdrawal}

By the title of this post one would think that I have sworn off sugar and am currently convulsing on my living room floor from sugar withdrawal. Don’t worry, I haven’t given up sugar. Although I probably should as I am an admitted sugar addict. I need to start attending 12-step meetings.

But I’m blissfully living in denial and haven’t hit rock bottom yet so until then, I’m a proud sugar addict.
The reason I’m in sugar withdrawal is because I haven’t been able to bake anything for a few weeks now since all of my supplies are packed up in boxes. You see, baking is like my therapy. When I’m stressed, upset, angry, sad, baking makes me feel better. I don’t know if it that baking feeds my Type-A personality by calling for perfectly measured ingredients or if it is that baking takes my mind of my worries for a few hours. Whatever it is, it usually calms me down. Which is a good thing for all involved.
Since I haven’t been able to bake for the last few weeks, I’ve been feeding my addiction by obsessively pinning delicious desserts on Pinterest.
I’m a chocolate girl at heart but I’m not going to lie, the fruit-laden dessert recipes I’m finding these days are pulling me over to the dark side. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some fruit. In fact, I eat a lot of fruit on a daily basis. I usually just eat it when I trick myself into thinking I’m being healthy, so adding mounds of sugar just seems plain blasphemous. But in the name of research I guess I will give this “fruit as dessert” idea a go.
Since I don’t have access to my baking supplies for the next few weeks I will just have to rely on Pinterest to sustain my cravings and help me to plan my first baking adventure in my new apartment.

    • Averie,

      Thank YOU for posting them. I have yet to make them as I am just getting settled into my new apartment but they are at the top of my list. Thanks for stopping by and can’t wait to see what you bake next…
